Art Nouveau, ornamental style of art that flourished between about 1890 and 1910 throughout Europe and the United States. This is a lovely gold plated 800 silver fish serving set from Germany. This Jugendstil, or German Art Nouveu, set is well marked; it contains the national German mark of the moon and crown, as well as 800 for 800 silver, and a W for the maker’s mark.

The fork measures approximately 11 inches long and the handle is approximately 1 inch wide. The knife measures approximately 12 inches long and its handle is also approximately 1 inch wide. Both the knife and fork are in very good condition with minimal signs of wear.
